ILLIT continues to achieve global chart success despite controversy within HYBE

Despite facing criticism from Min Hee Jin, CEO of ADOR, ILLIT has soared to ‘long-running popularity’ on music charts worldwide, including Korea, the United States, and Japan.

On the latest US Billboard chart (as of April 27), ILLIT’s debut mini-album ‘SUPER REAL ME‘ and its title track “Magnetic” have secured impressive positions. “Magnetic” ranks 3rd and 6th on the ‘Global’ (excluding the US) and ‘Global 200’ charts, respectively, maintaining a strong presence for four consecutive weeks. This achievement is notable given the competitive landscape, including the comeback of major pop stars like Taylor Swift.

Moreover, ‘SUPER REAL ME’ has also made waves on the ‘World Albums’ and ‘Heatseekers Albums’ charts, claiming the 5th and 10th positions, respectively, for three consecutive weeks. Additionally, ILLIT has been ranked 28th on the ‘Emerging Artist’ list for the same duration.

In Japan, ILLIT has achieved unprecedented success on the Oricon chart. “Magnetic” secured the second position on the ‘Weekly Streaming Ranking,’ accumulating 11.67 million views in a week. This marks the third consecutive week that ILLIT has surpassed 10 million views, making them the first foreign female artist to achieve this feat. The cumulative number of views for “Magnetic” on Oricon stands at 40,622,581, the highest among foreign female artists on the ‘Weekly Streaming Ranking.’

In addition to international achievements, “Magnetic” has dominated major domestic music charts in Korea, achieving a ‘perfect all-kill’ by topping the daily charts of Melon, Bugs, Genie Music, Naver Vibe, and Flo.

Despite the controversy surrounding Min Hee Jin’s remarks, ILLIT continues to captivate audiences with their lively charm and infectious melodies. “Magnetic”, with its theme of pursuing love with magnetic attraction, resonates strongly with teenage fans worldwide, further solidifying ILLIT’s position as a rising K-pop sensation.
