A Casco Bay Lines rate increase is now in effect as of June 1. It’s the first time the ferry service has changed its ticket prices in 15 years. Moving forward, peak-season round-trip adult tickets will cost $14 for any of the Casco Bay Islands. This flat rate replaces the previous fare structure, where ticket prices differed for each island. Previous peak adult tickets ranged from $7.70 for Peaks Island to $11.55 for Cliff Island. The 82% price increase is intended to address a longstanding budget deficit. While the cost of single tickets has increased, the price for monthly and annual passes has gone down to help improve affordability for island residents who rely on the ferry to commute. Existing tickets will remain valid until their expiration date.
