ALIQUIPPA ― Greek food and music will be showcased June 13-15 at the Kimisis Tis Theotokou Aliquippa Greek Orthodox Church.
The Aliquippa church’s 49th Annual Greek Food & Music Festival will satisfy culinary cravings between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily.
“We are back in full force once again after having a very successful 2023 three-day festival,” festival spokesman George P. Kazas said.
The church, at 2111 Davidson St., has expanded its outdoor seating, with indoor seats and tables also ready for visitors.
“This being our 49th year, we will be featuring a beautiful and larger outdoor tent that will measure over 30 feet wide and 150 feet long − double the size,” Kazas said. “With plenty of seating featuring three food booths and an outdoor taverna − bar in Greek − during dinner hours of 5-8 p.m.

“We will be featuring a full menu of all your favorites,” Kazas said.
The menu includes lamb shank dinner, pastitsio, moussaka, lemon chicken, gyros, lamb and pork shish kebob, grape leaves, loukoumades and a mouth-watering variety of Greek pastries.
Washington, D.C., singer/multi-instrumentalist Spyros Koliavasilisarea will perform from 5-8 p.m. all three nights.
“He is renowned throughout the Greek music scene here in the States as well as in his home country of Greece,” Kazas said.
Also, traditional Greek dancers from Kimisis Tis Theotokou Aliquippa Greek Orthodox Church and two sister churches will perform all three nights.
“We know how difficult the past few years have been for everyone, so we want to be able to offer a little gateway to our Greek oasis with authentic food, music, dance and spirits,” Kazas said. “Throughout time, the Greeks have always found a way to lift people’s spirits. If there is one word that everyone should know it is the word ‘Philoxenia,’ literally translated as ‘friend to the stranger.’ Greeks have always held hospitality as a high virtue.”
