The Friends of the Abilene Public Library invites the public to attend their annual book sale Thursday through Sunday.
The book sale fundraiser at the Abilene Convention Center, 1100 North 6th St., supports the public libraries by financially providing materials, equipment, programming and staff training opportunities throughout the year.
Doors open Thursday 5-8 p.m. for current members of the Friends of the Library. Those interested in shopping early can purchase a membership at the door.
The book sale is open to the general public for free Friday 10 a.m.-7p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday 1-4 p.m.
On Sunday, shoppers can participate in the last chance Bag-O-Books Sale. With the purchase of a $6 bag, readers can take as many books that can fit into it.
Thursday through Saturday guests are asked to bring their own bags, carts and boxes to help reduce the use of plastic. Recyclable totes will be available for purchase at the sale.
Prices are low at the annual sale and provide a chance to stock up on vintage reads and new releases. Children’s books start at $2. Regular hard and soft cover books cost $2. Paperbacks cost a $1 each.
All sales are final, and no refunds will be issued.
The sale does not only offer books. Shoppers can browse and buy from a collection of CDs, DVDs, books on tape, computer software, records, cassettes and collectible antiques.
Cash, checks, credit and debit cards are acceptable forms of payment. Mastercard, Visa, Discover and Diners Club are accepted. American Express will not be accepted for payment.
