BOYNEXTDOOR breaks records with ‘HOW?’ album release, dominates domestic and global charts
On April 16, BOYNEXTDOOR shattered its own records on major domestic charts following the launch of their latest album.
According to Hanteo Chart, a site tracking album sales statistics, BOYNEXTDOOR’s 2nd mini album ‘HOW?‘ sold an impressive 397,090 copies on the day of its release, claiming the top spot on the Daily Physical Album Chart. This marked a substantial increase of about 30% compared to the first-day sales of their previous mini album, ‘WHY..‘ which sold 302,203 copies.
The success of ‘HOW?’ extended to global charts as well, with the album reaching number one on the iTunes ‘Top Album’ chart in five countries/regions, including Russia, Singapore, Thailand, Hungary, and the Philippines, by 8 AM on April 16.
The title track of the album, ‘Earth, Wind & Fire‘, made its debut on Melon‘s real-time chart ‘Top 100’ at 89th place on the 15th, climbing to 63rd place by midnight. This marked the first time BOYNEXTDOOR has entered Melon’s ‘Top 100’, indicating a surge in public interest. Additionally, the song ranked 10th on the Bugs real-time chart and 62nd on the Genie real-time chart, setting new records for the group on both platforms. Other tracks from the album, except for the English version of the title track, also received positive feedback, entering Bugs and Genie’s real-time charts.
Released at 6 PM on April 15 KST, ‘HOW?’ serves as the final installment of the ‘First Love Story Trilogy‘, exploring relatable tales of first love experiences, from the excitement of initial encounters to the bittersweet farewells.
As BOYNEXTDOOR cements its status as a trendsetter, the group will kick off music broadcast activities with Mnet‘s ‘M Countdown‘ on April 18 KST, marking a promising return to the spotlight.
