‘Bridgerton’ Season 4: Everything We Know, Including a Possible Huge Spoiler & the Only 2 Confirmed Returning Cast Members So Far
When will season four premiere?
Fans are already looking forward to season four…but it looks like it will take two years.
Shonda Rhimes shared that Netflix, and particularly the way they produce TV shows, is partially to blame for how long it has taken between seasons. Each season has taken roughly 2 years to be released. If this schedule were to continue, we would not see season four until 2026.
“They [Netflix] want to write everything, and then they want to shoot everything, which is — it’s very counterintuitive to the way I learned to make television,” Shonda shared with Variety in May 2024.
“Now I think that’s just how it is. We’re really working on the idea of if this is the field we live in, then how do we make the field faster? And so we really are thinking about stuff such as permanent sets and lots, and things like that that will really help us speed the process up,” she continued.
The Variety writer then pointed out that if they’re making 8 Bridgerton seasons, the last won’t be released until 2034.
Shonda responded, “Right. It takes so long, and that’s frustrating to me. To me, we should be able to write and produce shows at the same time, and that’s not necessarily possible at this moment. It should be, but it’s not.”
