Joanna Gaines—household name, interior designer, TV personality, Magnolia Market shop owner, wife to Chip Gaines, mother, and so much more (seriously, this list barely scratches the surface)—just released a new paint collection, directly inspired by Fixer Upper: The Lakehouse. Seriously, what can’t this woman do?

The Lakehouse Collection from Magnolia Home, created in collaboration with KILZ, consists of a palette of seven distinct colors (two of which are returning favorites!) that capture all the natural charm of the 1960s Lake Waco home she and Chip have been restoring in Fixer Upper’s latest season. Tranquil Waters is a nod to the still waters of the Texas lake; Cognac is an earthy brown that harks back to the 5,100-square-foot lake house’s Spanish Revival roots; and Juniper Tree instantly evokes images of long, winding walks through Waco’s greenspaces.

“I always have this moment with every project that we do where I kind of let the house tell me the story,” Gaines tells us. “When I was standing in this house taking in the amazing view, I felt like it was home. I kept telling Chip, ‘This feels like a retreat home.’”

Once the house spoke to her, inspiration for the assortment of seven colors followed as if called. Words Gaines wanted people to associate with The Lakehouse Collection? “Natural,” “earthy,” and “grounding.” Indeed, her objective was not to compete with the lush, woodsy nature surrounding the house but, instead, play with what it’s giving them and make the outdoors-indoors transition seamless. Aside from the paint collection, Gaines succeeded at that via the lake house’s multiple cherry wood finishes, oversized windows and skylights, as well as flooring that wasn’t too overpowering.

Many of the colors in Magnolia Home’s freshest paint compilation (we see you, Wooded Acres!) are nostalgia-laced for a reason. The Gaines’ wanted to honor the property’s “‘60s with a dash of midcentury modern” heritage in everything they did related to this project. “‘How do I bring that back to life?’” Gaines remembers asking herself at the start.

With this collection, fans can infuse their own lives with a bit of lake house magic—while celebrating Fixer Upper’s ten-year anniversary alongside the power couple at the heart of the show. Gaines realizes not everyone is going to have an actual lake house that can serve as a canvas for the beige, blue, and sun-washed green paint offerings but hopes the lineup can nonetheless help the “person on the other side” feel a bit more confident with their renovation, while “understanding what color does and how that makes [them] feel.”

Can’t decide which hue to commit to out of the seven? Joanna Gaines is quick to say she loves all the greens in the collection, particularly Remote Trail.

“The ‘60s and ‘70s is my kind of my era,” Gaines says, “so when I see that green, it just feels timeless. It feels grounding. It feels right.”
