Cedar Point introduces new experience for 2024 season: What to expect from the ‘Prize Flyer’

You’ll find the Prize Flyer near the Power Tower. It costs $20 to play.

SANDUSKY, Ohio — There’s a new surprise addition to Cedar Point for the 2024 season as the Sandusky amusement park has recently installed a “Prize Flyer” experience — but what is it?

“The Prize Flyer game is a giant version of the traditional arcade game where humans become the ‘claw’ and are lowered into a bin of prizes,” Cedar Point spokesperson Tony Clark tells 3News. “They’ll grab as many prizes as they can when lowered, then keep a single prize from the amount they’ve captured.”

Want to try it out for yourself?

You’ll find the Prize Flyer near the Power Tower. It costs $20 to play, and Clark says guests must be at least 42” tall. The maximum weight is 300 pounds.

Clark says Cedar Point is the first of all the Cedar Fair parks to bring this experience to guests.

We also asked Clark if there were any additional updates he could provide on the status of Top Thrill 2 as the roller coaster remains closed.

“There are no new updates on Top Thrill 2 at this time,” Clark said.

The ride was shut down just days after the 2024 season started as Cedar Point called it an “extended closure,” saying the ride’s manufacturer is working on a mechanical modification to the coaster’s vehicles.
