Classic car event set for Saturday in Chandler – Daily Independent

INDEPENDENT NEWSMEDIA

The Park at Copper Creek is hosting a car show in celebration of its fifth birthday as a care facility.

The public is invited to attend this free event, Saturday, April 20, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at senior care facility, 901 S. 94th Street in Chandler.

Attendees can enjoy a chef-prepared BBQ lunch, listen to live music, and admire the timeless beauty of about 20 classic Corvettes and a few other vintage cars.

Koelsch Communities founder, Emmet Koelsch, was an avid car collector. In 1981, he began bringing classic cars, mostly vehicles from the 50s era, to the memory care communities.

Residents engage with, touch, and sit in the vehicles. The cars encourage memory through nostalgia, taking residents back to a time they can remember and igniting their senses.
