Cruise Ship Interiors reveals details of new Attractions & Entertainment Technology Zone

Cruise Ship Interiors (CSI), the world’s premier exhibition and conference fully dedicated to the cruise ship industry, has revealed details of its new Attractions & Entertainment Technology Zone (A&ET). The new zone will debut at its 2024 event, which is taking place from 6 –7 June in Miami, US.

“New cruise vessels double as the next frontier for the cutting edge of attractions and entertainment technology,” says a representative from CSI. “Each vessel launched is equipped with groundbreaking innovations providing new ways to keep passengers entertained at sea, including popular land-based attractions.”

2021 saw the introduction of rollercoasters to the oceans with BOLT. Since then, newly constructed cruise ships have featured hybrid coasters ranging from rollgliders to watercoasters.  In addition, numerous other much-loved land-based attractions, such as virtual reality experiences and escape rooms, have also launched at sea.

These diverse attractions appeal to a wide range of cruise passengers, including families, couples, and solo travellers of all ages.

Innovations in onboard entertainment

The Attractions & Entertainment Technology Zone at Cruise Ship Interiors Design Expo Americas will present the latest innovations in cruise entertainment and attractions together with cutting-edge advancements in passenger experience. Delegates will discover new technologies and attractions that are set to transform onboard entertainment, from VR experiences to competitive socialising games.

Exhibitors include:

  • Brunswick Bowling, booth 757. Brunswick is one of the best-known names in the bowling industry, with a global presence, long history in the sport, and a diverse range of products and services. Its new Duckpin Social game offers an innovative way for cruise companies to include bowling in their activities and combines an authentic bowling experience with a compact footprint.

The group manufactures and supplies amusement rides, rollercoasters, and bumper cars to indoor and outdoor amusement parks around the world. Its experienced and skilled designers produce both indoor and outdoor designs, such as interactive restaurant attractions, videogame spaces, VR bumper cars, and kid’s play areas.
  • Illuminated Integration, booth 1048. Each space inside a cruise ship is infused with technology, from a vibrant casino to a calm spa. Illuminated Integration understands how technology can help improve visitor experiences by increasing the functionality, immersion, and cohesiveness onboard a ship. Its creative team collaborates extensively with each client to develop a bespoke installation designed for each customer’s specific needs and project goals.
  • Walltopia, booth 958. As a world leader in climbing walls, Walltopia also boasts the widest selection of both traditional and cutting-edge Active Entertainment attractions that provide fun and excitement for guests of all ages. It recently supplied a unique rollglider for Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas, the biggest cruise ship in the world. Situated on one of Icon’s highest decks, this new ropes course-style activity flies riders at an astounding 72 metres above sea level.
