Gelati Celesti announces new Chesterfield ice cream flavor ahead of county’s 275th Anniversary Celebration

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — After four round of tasting a multitude of flavors of Gelati Celesti’s ice cream, testers have chosen Chesterfield County’s first ice cream flavor.

Six testers joined county leaders on Tuesday, May 7 at Gelati Celesti’s Swift Creek Location to try a variety of flavors.

The clear winner was Chesterfield Honey Bear Tracks, which is a smooth honey ice cream with bits of Butterfinger candy bars mixed in for a crunchy texture.

A Chesterfield County spokesperson said other close contenders included:

  • “Chesterfield Celebration,” a sweet cake batter ice cream with pieces of cookie dough and chocolate sprinkles stirred in to create a celebration in each bite.
  • “Rockwood Bark,” salty meets sweet with this sea salt chocolate ice cream. Chocolate covered pretzel bits are mixed in to add a fun crunch.
  • “Chesterfield Berry Farm,” smooth white chocolate ice cream with chocolate raspberry truffles stirred in. A fruity ode to our favorite, local farm.

This comes ahead of Chesterfield County’s 275th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, May 25, where residents can sample the flavor while supplies last.

The flavor will also be available for purchase at the celebration and all Gelati Celesti locations across Virginia – including metro Richmond – throughout the summer, starting at noon on Saturday, May 25.
