This is your sign to book a road trip. You’re going to want to try this!
In this lightning-fast and practical video, watch as a super-organized mum demonstrates her genius speed-packing techniques for a family of six.
Mum of four, Jordan Taylor Martin, posted a video of how she packs for her kids. She’s using a plastic set of drawers instead of suitcases to ensure her four kids have all their clothes.
“This is what I’m packing all my kids’ stuff in,” Martin says, displaying the drawers. “They ain’t getting suitcases. They getting these drawers.”
Who wants to schlep multiple suitcases? Then, work your Tetris magic to get them in the boot of the car. Only to unpack them when you arrive and desperately try to hide the empty cases for the entire trip.
“Then when we get there, we’re just gonna take this out of the car, and then there’s their stuff in drawers for the whole week. So, if you think this is about to be aesthetically pleasing and that everything’s gonna be folded nice and neat for the most part, maybe, but for a lot of it, no.”
She then speeds up the video to show how she “packs”….AKA throwing her kids’ clothes, hats, swimsuits, PJs, etc., into one of the drawers. Each kid gets a drawer, and they can organise it to their liking once they reach their destination.
Thank you, Jordan, this is brilliant!

But her road trip hacks don’t stop there.
The video shows the creator making a snack bin for their six-hour car ride. She fills the container with pouches, bars, chips, and bottles. Her large Croc-like bag holds all the food and First-Aid supplies.
She captioned the viral video, saying, “My brain needs a 24-hour break after this.”

Another helpful tip, from this family of six, is that they drive in the middle of the night to avoid traffic, tantrums, never-ending screentime and fights. Everyone sleeps except the driver, obviously.
“I went ahead and put on their pyjamas, and I think all three kids are asleep back there.”
After her video gained traction, several TikTok users commented on the brilliance of her packing hack.
“This is literally the smartest idea of all time,” one user wrote.
“THIS is the hack I’ve needed in my life,” another agreed.
“You just won the internet! The most genius hack I’ve ever seen!” one mum gushed.

This mum offered one more hack and said, “I would have separated each drawer by days. Top drawer- First Day outfits, swimmers, Pjs for each kid, but this is genius.”
“Why have I never thought of this? The easiest way to pack for four kids,” a mum admitted.
“Dang, I have 2 of these sitting around the house! Brilliant,” another said.
Martin replied, “This was sitting by the back door for weeks, needing to be put in the attic. I’m so glad I procrastinated and never put it up there.”
