Latest Leak Suggests Samsung Will Use A Squarish Design For The Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra, Giving Competition To The Apple Watch Ultra
We have received skewed details on what the next Galaxy watches will look like. The latest leaks highlight some interesting choices, such as the reported decision to use a 3nm chipset. Additionally, earlier reports shared that the Galaxy Watch 7 will sport a look similar to the Apple Watch and head for a square design. Now, new leaks have emerged, confirming the previous speculations and adding more gripping information. It looks like the company is determined to make some major changes to the design of the upcoming wearable series.
Samsung is taking inspiration from the Apple Watch and will be going for a similar square design for the Upcoming Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra
According to the renders shared by SmartPrix for the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra, the published images showcase a peculiar outlook that blends the signature classic round design for the display with the inclusion of a square frame for the outer part. We are unsure how this design would be named, but for now, we will assume that the Ultra model version would sport both the timeless and the new.
This new display choice makes the wearable’s design distinctive, but at the same time, Samsung appears to be averting risk by playing safe and heading for a rounded shape for the core visual so as to still be aesthetically relatable for its loyal customer base. In comparison to the Apple Watch, the design seems to have less definition, but this might be intentional.
This is not the first time Samsung will be using a square design for its wearables. Though it has been a while, Samsung’s Gear series had a squarish outlook, leaning more towards a rectangular shape. Other than this, the first batch of Android smartwatches was released with a square display. It seems that the shape was discontinued in an attempt to stand out from its competitors, and the square design, as a result, became a trademark of the Apple Watch.
Not only is the design for the smartwatch lineup being upgraded, but some other significant changes are apparently coming with the series, including a third additional button and larger dimensions. The third button is said to be rounded and placed between the two classic buttons. At the time of writing, not much information is available on the additional button’s functionality, but rumors about the button being used for Galaxy AI are also making rounds. The Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra could follow the Apple Watch Ultra’s functionality with a shortcut button, which could prove to be beneficial if tied up correctly with the features.
