    Magic Dragon Street Meet! Here’s What To Know For the Lake’s Supercharged Car Show

    LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — Central Missouri’s largest car show returns to Lake of the Ozarks May 3-4: the Magic Dragon Street Meet Nationals.

    With a variety of unique makes, models, and years of vehicles, the Magic Dragon Street Meet Nationals is a must-see event. 

    The show, which began in 1987, brings more than 800 participants and more than 10,000 spectators annually at the historic Bagnell Dam Strip. With over 30 years of show experience, the atmosphere is electric and feels like the set of American Graffiti. 

    The name’s origin is rooted in an aerial perception of the Lake. Some say the vast body of water and winding coves resemble a dragon from the sky, so the area became known as “The Land of the Magic Dragon.”

    During the 36th annual event, the Strip will be closed to normal traffic so only show vehicles are within the boundaries. 

    Here’s the schedule:

    Thursday, May 2

    Noon to 4 p.m. – participant registration at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church (755 Bagnell Dam Blvd, Lake Ozark, MO 65049)

    Friday, May 3

    8 a.m. to 5 p.m. – participant registration at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church 

    10 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Magic Dragon Street Meet Nationals Show hours

    5:30 to 7:30 p.m. – judging at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church (all judged vehicle must be in line no later than 7:15 p.m.)

    6 p.m. – center lane parking no longer allowed; all show vehicles must be moved

    Saturday, May 4

    6 a.m. to 6 p.m. – Bagnell Dam Strip closed to regular traffic; registered show vehicles only 

    6 a.m. to noon – participant registration at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church

    8 a.m. to 6 p.m. – show hours

    8 a.m. to 7 p.m. – spectator parking shuttle service 

    1 p.m. – pedal car challenge auction (main stage)

    3 p.m. – awards (main stage), followed by 50/50 raffle winner announcement

    6 p.m. – center lane parking no longer allows; must move show vehicles
