Mahindra’s XUV.e8’s key details leaked ahead of launch: More than just an electrified XUV700
What’s the story
Mahindra showcased several electric vehicles (EV) at an August 2022 event in the United Kingdom.
The first of these EVs, the Mahindra XUV.e8, is set to hit the market later this year.
Ahead of its debut, some key details about this electric SUV have been leaked by CarWale.
The design and features of the Mahindra XUV.e8 have been reveal based on patent-related documents.
It will retain the exterior design of XUV700
As per the images shared by the publication, the Mahindra XUV.e8 will retain the overall silhouette and major elements of the ICE-powered XUV700.
However, there will be some noticeable changes including copper-colored inserts, aero-inspired wheels, a blanked-off grille, a new front bumper, and vertically stacked projector headlamps.
Additionally, an LED light bar will be featured up front in this electric SUV model.
A three-screen setup will be on the inside
The interior of the Mahindra XUV.e8 will feature a three-screen setup.
One screen facing the driver’s seat will house a digital instrument cluster, while another above the center console will feature a touchscreen infotainment screen.
The function of the third screen remains unknown at this time, adding an element of intrigue to this upcoming electric SUV model.
A new steering wheel design is anticipated
The Mahindra XUV.e8 will feature a new two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel design. This innovative steering wheel will have a red insert in the center and a black screen that could potentially display the ‘BE’ (Born Electric) branding.
