Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers’s initiative to bring more electric vehicle charging stations includes some around the lakeshore.
One will be placed at the Shell Gas Station on 41st Street, while a second will be placed in Sheboygan at the Sleep Inn and Suites on Motel Rd.
Others would be placed around northeast Wisconsin at other gas stations and businesses in Green Bay, Oshkosh, and Fond du Lac.
The money for the EV charging stations comes from President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and some state money.
53 projects will be completed over the next 5 years, with an estimated cost of $33.8 million, including $23.3 million in federal funds.
That means Wisconsin will receive about $78 million from the National Electric Vehicle Initiative at the federal level.
