Motorcycle group hosts summer bash to fund scholarship in memory of Heartland man

The 660 Charitable Motorcycle Organization hosted a summer kick-off party at Thousand Hills State Park to raise funds for the Tim Vos Memorial Scholarship.

Tim Vos was a Heartland resident who died in a car accident in 2017.

Christine Vos, Tim’s mother, told KTVO more about her son.

“Tim Vos loved to have fun. Anything with a motor he loved to ride, cars, motorcycles, dirt bikes. He loved to go out and hang out with friends and ride dirt bikes. He liked being around people and helping people out.”

The scholarship is awarded to a Kirksville auto tech senior.

McKayla Sizemore, who won the scholarship in 2023 and is using it to go to State Technical College of Missouri, told us what her hopes are for this year’s winner.

“I hope they actually try to move forward with what they plan on doing. I hope they try their hardest to do what they want to do.”

The party raised funds by hosting a car and motorcycle show with a $10 entry fee and selling tumblers and shirts.

Folks who stopped by could also donate.

The festivities were capped off with a motorcycle cruise down Highway 149.
