The new ride is a reimagination of one of the amusement park’s oldest and longest-operated rides, Chaparral Antique Cars, which debuted in the park in 1962.
ARLINGTON, Texas — A new ride is opening soon at Six Flags Over Texas.
The Dino Off Road Adventure ride opens Saturday with a fleet of 14 vehicles to take adventure-ready riders along a 1,470-foot track with 15 life-size dinosaur animatronics.
It’s a retheming of one of the amusement park’s oldest and longest-operated rides Chaparral Antique Cars, which debuted in the park in 1962.
“We can’t wait for our guests to experience the prehistoric thrills of Dino Off Road Adventure,” said Park President Richard Douaihy in a statement. “These new archaeological additions will continue our long-standing tradition of providing our guests with unparalleled family fun and thrills.”
The new ride is in the Texas section of the park, which is also home to the popular New Texas Giant and Titan roller coasters.
Diamond Season Pass Holders will be able to ride the new Dino Off Road Adventure during a preview on June 14, and season pass holders and Six Flags members will be able to ride from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on June 15. The ride opens to the public at 4 p.m. June 15.
