Allison Kay Wood was born on October 16th, 1986, to James Edward Wood and Katherine Helen (Johnson) Wood in Ventura, California. She grew up in the oceanside city which she loved. Her childhood was filled with camping trips to Leo Carrillo, Girl Scout events, Disneyland, ice hockey games and so much more! Alli graduated from Buena High School in 2005 and went on to study interior design and architecture at Ventura College. One of her first jobs was working at Pump It Up, where she reveled in bringing joy to children’s birthday parties. She kick-started her big kid career working at The Toland Group doing customer service and local events. Alli loved and was incredibly involved with the LGBTQIA+ community. She treasured performing with her friends in the Hir Bois drag king troupe.
Alli met and fell in love with Megan Wittstruck in 2011. They were married on November 22nd, 2014. This relationship can only be defined as true unconditional love. Together they enjoyed living at The W?v, hanging out at Paddy’s and strolling the beach.
They moved to Texas in 2016 to start the next adventure in their married life. Alli started her career at State Farm Insurance, where she excelled at her position as an auto claims representative. She was often recognized for her passion and “going the extra mile.” The two bought a home and created a beautiful family life. The Foundry Church is where they spent most of their Sunday mornings, with pastors Shawn and Brandee. Their miracle son, Lawson James, was born in 2021. The perfect gift. Alli blossomed being a mother. Megan and Alli truly took every opportunity to educate, enjoy and create lasting memories with Lawson.
Allison [Alli] Wittwood beloved wife, mother, daughter, niece and friend passed away on May 11th, 2024, after a gallant 15 year battle with cancer. She was at home surrounded by her family and friends. Alli is survived by her loving wife Megan, son Lawson, mother Kathy Helen, mother and father-in-law Nancy and Gary Wittstruck, sister and brother-in-law Emily and Jeremy Wyatt, nephew Colton, nieces Callie and Colbie, and multiple aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her daddy James Wood, maternal grandmother Miriam Kay Cecil, paternal grandparents Jim and Joan Wood, and uncle Harry Johnson.
