OMEGA and Swatch are back at it again with their latest MoonSwatch unveiling, featuring a trio of Mission on Earth timepieces that nod to our planet’s composition. This new announcement marks the latest addition to the two companies’ ongoing collaborative endeavors, which saw numerous iterations of the Mission to the Moon as well as the more recently launched Mission to the Moonphase monochrome time-tellers starring Snoopy on the dial.
Encased in Swatch’s very own Bioceramic material, the Mission on Earth watches are modeled after OMEGA’s illustrious Speedmaster Moon Watch. The 42mm-wide watch case is dressed in a matter hue that nods to each variant’s inspiration, accompanied by a special velcro strap in a complementary palette.
The Desert colorway mirrors the mood and hue of desert sands, while its strap, bezel and dial are doused in taupe. Contrastingly, the Lava variant stars a mostly black makeover but is punctuated with a vermillion case, hands, buckles and stitching. The central seconds hand also differs from the usual MoonSwatch, as it specifically references the 1968 “Ultraman” Moonwatch.
Last but surely not the least, Polar Lights stars a tantalizing look rendered in bright turquoise and deep blue. One of its main highlights lies in its dial, which incorporates silver-tone flakes against an alluring midnight hue, mimicking the appearance of aventurine glass dials.
All Mission on Earth models feature a color imprint of planet Earth on the caseback. Each model is priced at $300 USD and will only be available to purchase through select Swatch boutiques worldwide starting June 15.
