DECATUR — Mi Lindo Tizapan, located at 546 N. Brush College Road in Decatur, will be closing its doors on Saturday.
According to Esther Flores, who spoke for her husband who is one of the owners, the lack of traffic, due to the overpass that is under construction on Brush College Road, has prevented many of the restaurant’s customers from stopping by for breakfast and lunch.
“We have a lot of people from ADM,” she said. “When they closed the road, that affected us a lot.”
The restaurant opened in November 2021 after success with a food truck under the same name. The restaurant served traditional Mexican food such as tacos, burritos, enchiladas and taco salads.
The staff expects the road project to take several months to finish. Flores said the restaurant may open again after the road reopens, but the decision has not been confirmed.
