Otam’s 80HT Hull and Deck Completed and Ready for Interior Outfitting

Otam, the boutique yacht builder celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, has announced significant progress on its latest project, the Otam 80HT #007. Set for delivery in March 2025, this yacht is described as the most sophisticated and technologically advanced model Otam has produced to date.

The 80HT #007 features a full Kevlar hull and deck, complemented by carbon fibre components. This robust construction was specifically selected by the owner, who has also specified an exclusive lamination package and additional uni-directional fibers in high-load areas.

One notable engineering achievement is the removal of the central windshield pillar, providing an unobstructed view. The yacht will also feature a fully customized dashboard and instrumentation package with multiple back-up systems, as requested by the owner, who plans to operate the yacht personally.

Nuvolari Lenard, a prestigious Venice-based design studio known for their work on some of the world’s most luxurious megayachts, has been tasked with both the interior styling and exterior detailing of the 80HT #007. This collaboration marks a first for Otam, adding a unique touch to the project.

Additional features include a sliding sunroof integrated into the hardtop, a bespoke garage configured to house two jet skis, and extra-tall, pillar-free structural windows in the main deck saloon for enhanced natural light. The full-beam master suite will feature double windows, adding to the yacht’s luxurious feel.

Powered by twin MTU 2600hp engines coupled with Arneson drives, the 80HT #007 is expected to reach a top speed of 47 knots. The hull lines, designed by Umberto Tagliavini and Aldo Scorzoni Marine Design & Services, are aimed at optimizing performance.

Matteo Belardinelli, Otam’s sales and communication manager, emphasized the company’s commitment to bespoke design and smart engineering. “This owner wanted to build something truly different, and we are confident that we can not only meet but exceed his expectations.”

With the hull and deck lamination complete and special insulation components installed for extra-quiet onboard comfort, outfitting is now underway. Otam is on track for a timely delivery in March 2025.

The shipyard’s history started in 1954 in Liguria. Its professionalism is what made it stand out, very quickly becoming the first authorized Riva yacht Service Center for the Med Sea. In the 80’s Otam fit around 25 yachts for an American builder before starting his own production of Otam 45’ and 55’, earning significant attention. Today Otam has produced around 90 yachts, becoming an Italian specialist, and, together with its custom range, offers a limitless choice between 45’ and 130’.
