DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A pregnant woman is one of two people found shot in Durham Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The woman’s shooting was reported just before 4:10 p.m. in the 200 block of Tobler Court at the Sherwood Park Apartments just off Cheek Road and east of E. Geer Street, according to the Durham Police Department.

“When officers arrived, they found an adult female victim, who is pregnant, suffering from a gunshot wound,” officers said in a news release.

EMS crews responded and took the woman to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

Soon after that shooting, officers responded to Duke University Hospital where a man had arrived with a gunshot wound, police said.

He had been transported by private vehicle to the hospital, according to police.

“At this time we don’t know if the two shootings are related,” officers said in the news release.
