REVIEW: 65th Anniversary Matterhorn DOLE Whip With Souvenir Cup at Trader Sam’s – WDW News Today
Visit Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar at Disneyland Hotel this month to get Coconut-Pineapple DOLE Whip in a souvenir Matterhorn cup, in honor of the 65th anniversary of the Matterhorn Bobsleds. It’s available from the bar and the walk-up window.
Matterhorn DOLE Whip – $10
The Coconut-Pineapple DOLE Whip is topped with coconut shavings mixed with silver and blue edible glitter so it resembles the Matterhorn mountain.
Right now, it comes in a plastic cup with a blue gradient featuring the Trader Sam’s, Matterhorn, and Disneyland wordmarks.
The Matterhorn mountain is pictured with the Yeti on top. A glass version of the cup will be available in a few weeks.
It’s a refreshing treat on a hot day. If you’re not a big coconut fan, you can ask for the flakes to be left off so there’s less coconut flavor. But we like the texture they add.
The DOLE Whip itself has subtle hints of pineapple and coconut. It tastes similar to a Mai Tai. Once we got to the bottom, it was overwhelmingly pineapple-flavored.
Rating out of 7: 5
The Matterhorn Bobsleds opened at Disneyland on June 14, 1959. The coaster has two tracks with 6-person bobsleds that take guests 80 feet up into a snowy mountain, where they “Swoop in and out of shadowy caves and along jagged rocky ledges” while avoiding the Abominable Snowman.
Will you be celebrating with the Matterhorn DOLE Whip?
