HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Huntsville Utilities (HU) says that contractors will temporarily close down the southbound lanes of California Street between Clinton Avenue and Eustis Avenue to change out utility poles.

HU says that the closure will start on Tuesday, June 11 at 12 p.m. According to officials, the closure is expected to last until Wednesday, June 12 at 6 a.m.

Drivers are asked to avoid this area if possible. Additionally, drivers traveling through this area are asked to do so with extreme caution as workers will be present.

If possible, drivers are asked to plan alternate routes to minimize any inconvenience.

If alternate routes are not available, be prepared for shifting traffic patterns and possible delays.
