Tesla recalls Cybertrucks due to misplaced soap

UNDATED (CNN Newsource, WKRC) – Tesla ordered a recall to about four thousand Cybertrucks because the accelerator pedals could become stuck in the down position.

Workers improperly used soap to help fit the pad onto the accelerator panel, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The residual lubricant caused some pads from staying on when it’s pressed down and that could cause the accelerator pedal to stick in place.

The safety regular said it reached out to Tesla for more information on the issue but did not immediately hear a respond.

NHTSA posted the recall on its X account.

“Recalled for unintended acceleration from trapped pedal,” said NHTSA.

It affected all model year 2024 Cybertrucks.
