Guests staying at one of Walt Disney World Resort’s most popular hotels have just received a mass warning that will affect every single person on the property.

When guests visit Walt Disney World, one of the most exciting things they can choose is what resort they are staying at. At Disney World, there are over 25 hotels that you can stay at, each one having its very own unique theming that makes it special. First, you need to choose a price point and decide between a value resort, moderate resort, or deluxe resort. Next, consider your preferred theming, room size, and desired location based on proximity to Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Lately, we have seen the price points for hotels continue to rise, along with ticket costs, food costs, and merchandise costs at Walt Disney World. Gone are the days that one can pull off a cheap Disney World trip, now, everything has a big price tag on it. In order to save money, many guests opt to stay in one of the value resorts, with Disney’s Pop Century Resort being among the more popular of options due to its convenient location next to the skyliner.

At Pop Century, guests can step back in time and relive iconic eras upon arrival. Each building in the resort is themed around a specific decade, from the 1950s with its classic cars and jukeboxes to the 1990s featuring neon lights and Rubik’s Cubes. The larger-than-life iconography throughout the resort evokes a sense of playful nostalgia, making it a fun destination for guests of all ages.

Pop Century is categorized as a Disney value resort, as we noted, offering a budget-friendly option for families seeking a magical Disney experience without breaking the bank. The resort features comfortable rooms with standard amenities, perfect for resting after a day of park exploration. Guests also enjoy access to the complimentary Disney transportation system, making travel to the parks and Disney Springs convenient.

Pop Century boasts three themed swimming pools, each with its own unique character. The Computer Pool takes inspiration from the 1980s, the Hippy Dippy Do Pool celebrates the 1960s, and the Largest Pool in the World (not actually the world’s largest) pays homage to the 1990s. The resort also offers a variety of dining options, from the quick-service food court, Everything Pop Shopping & Dining, to poolside grills for casual meals.

For entertainment, guests can enjoy the resort’s arcade or relax on the expansive Hourglass Lake with beautiful views. Additionally, the recent addition of the Disney Skyliner gondola system provides a scenic and convenient way to travel to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and Epcot International Drive.

Now, guests at that resort have all received a mass alert warning them that Everything POP Food Court is now under renovation. While this will make the dining experience less enjoyable than usual, it will remain open to serve guests food during construction. At the moment, there is not a set date as to when this refurbishment will begin, but it seems likely that it will take place this summer into early fall.

The email blast read:

“In an effort to ensure the quality of our facilities, we will be refreshing the Everything POP Food Court. During the refurbishment, the Everything POP Food Court will remain open. Food and beverage offerings will be available via mobile order in the My Disney Experience app, and beverage stations will still be accessible. Additionally, seating will be available throughout the dining room.”

Luckily, with food still being served, this will not be a major deterrent for guests, but it is something that is good to be aware of.

Situations such as this occur all of the time at Disney World, whether it is your resort pool that is now closed during your visit due to an ongoing refurbishment, a ride that broke down just before you planned to ride it, or a transportation closure that might leave you needing to plan for a more extended journey to the parks. With Disney functioning like a whole city, there are always going to be times when different areas experience downtime, and as we can see from this warning, Disney does do their best to ensure guests are aware if it is a planned situation.

This will likely affect many guests as Walt Disney World Resort is preparing to ignite a summer filled with captivating new experiences for guests of all ages.
