Miami is well-known for its Hispanic cuisine. However, more and more people are becoming drawn towards the city’s Asian food scene, expanding their cultural palates one meal at a time.
To celebrate Asian-American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, here are five food spots near Modesto Maidique Campus where FIU students could enjoy delicious Asian cuisine, ranging from the closest restaurant to the farthest.

Serving authentic Vietnamese food, Pho 79 is just four minutes away from MMC.
Some of their dishes include egg rolls for $11.35 and Bun Bo Hue, a spicy soup with vermicelli rice noodles, for $21.75.
Pho 79 is open from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. from Friday to Saturday.

Also four minutes away from FIU’s main campus is Chang’s Chinese Restaurant, located at 1311 SW 107th Ave, Miami, FL 33174.
This spot is perfect for that Chinese food craving, serving sweet and sour pork, $13.50, and salt and pepper tofu, $12.99.
Although they’re closed on Tuesday, Chang’s is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
They are also open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Hi Pot Miami is another Asian favorite four minutes away from MMC. They specialize in hot pot, but are known for other dishes.
Their most popular foods are tonkotsu ramen, $14.99, and takoyaki, $7.35.
Hi Pot Miami is open from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday to Sunday.

Good Chef, a familiar Asian staple around FIU, is only a five minute drive from the main campus. The restaurant is located at 113 SW 107th Ave, Miami, FL 33174. You can also call 305-227-3111.
The spot houses both a market that sells an assortment of Asian items and a restaurant with dishes like Pad Thai for $13.95 and Red Bean Taiyaki for $5.95.
Good Chef opens from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. throughout the week.

If you’re trying to find a place that can help with your Indian food craving, look no further than Spice N Curry.
Spice N Curry is six minutes away from MMC and also has a market that sells Indian spices and other items. It’s located at 123 SW 107th Ave, Miami, FL 33174. If you need to contact them, call 305-456-6280.
Some foods served at the restaurant here include chicken biryani for $10 and samosas for $1. Spice N Curry opens from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.
