LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Two traffic signals will be replaced in the east Las Vegas valley this week and the work will cause signal outages and lane restrictions.
During the outages, signals at the intersections will be dark and travel will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Metro police will assist with traffic control until the new signals are activated.
Work for both projects will happen at night, with lane restrictions beginning at 9 p.m.
- On Wednesday, June 12: Traffic signals at Sahara Avenue and Sandhill Road will be replaced. The new signals are scheduled to be activated Thursday morning.
- On Thursday, June 13: Traffic signals at Vegas Valley Drive and Lamb Boulevard will be replaced. The new signals are scheduled to be activated Friday morning.
The work is part of a $2.9 million improvement project that started in March. Traffic signs and signals at the intersections will be upgraded to add yellow flashing arrows at all four corners. Sidewalk ramps will also be redone and some patch paving is planned.
