SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Mike’s Red Tacos held a grand opening on Friday for its newest location in San Diego.
Known for its birria and signature red tacos, Mike’s Red Tacos has officially opened up its second location in San Diego at 3365 Rosecrans Street in Point Loma.
KUSI’s Kacey McKinnon was live from Mike’s Red Tacos’ new Point Loma location ahead of the grand opening celebration Friday with more on the new taco shop. Watch in the video above.
At the grand opening celebration, which started at 11 a.m. Friday, the first 50 people in line got a free taco.
The taco shop’s birria-based menu has a variety of choices, including birria tacos, veggie tacos, burritos, breakfast burritos, birria ramen, red quesadillas, loaded nachos and fries, and more.
In an Instagram post, the taco shop noted their new location has more seating and is now serving beer, micheladas and hard seltzers.
Mike’s Red Tacos was voted #52 on Yelp’s Top 100 Places to Eat list in 2023, and the only taco shop that year to make the list, according to their website.
Mike’s Red Tacos’ first location is in the Clairemont area at 4310 Genesse Ave.
