Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne Co. — Sunday the 17th annual American Society of Mechanical Engineering (A.S.M.E) car show was held at Wilkes University.
We’re told over 100 cars were on display during the show.
The show was supposed to be held last weekend, but due to rainy weather the show was postponed.
This year’s car show benefits STAAR, an ovarian cancer foundation dedicated to advancing research on Ovarian Cancer.
“This is specifically important to me because my mom was diagnosed with low grade serous ovarian cancer and she’s been NCE ( No Evidence of Cancer) for the past three years because of research from foundations like STAAR) . Tess Edwards, the secretary of the ASME club, said.
Despite Cold weather many spectators attended to check out the variety of cars.
“Even for it being how cold it is today, we had a very good turnout today. We love seeing all the different types of cars,” Logan Seling, Vice President of the ASME said.
Another car show will be held on May 4th at Northwest High School in Shickshinny to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
