Women over 40 can look years younger with a ‘flattering’ trick to ‘dressing well’

Women may find it more difficult to dress as they age and their body type, hair and skin texture all start to change.

However, your 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond may be the best time to “elevate” your style, one expert claimed.

Speaking exclusively to GB News, a renowned figure in luxury fashion and co-founder of Monfrère Steven Dann shared his advice for women looking to find their style in later years.

He advised it is worth focusing on staple items to create a timeless, versatile and fashionable wardrobe.

The expert explained: “It’s about curating a wardrobe that features versatile pieces that work best and flatter your body type so you can feel confident at any event or occasion at any age.

“For a lot of women, your 40s, 50s, and 60s are when elevated fashion might start to become more attainable regardless of age. If you’re at a point in your life where you are building a wardrobe, focus on staples first.

“Dressing well is all about embracing timeless fashion and investing in pieces that reflect your personal style.”

Getting the basics right can make it easier to put together items to help you dress for any occasion.

This can include finding the right base layers, such as a classic white or black t-shirt, tailored trousers and skirts, blazers, coats and shoes in complementing tones.

Making sure basics fit well will also help women create a timeless wardrobe with pieces they can wear for years.

Getting clothing tailored can be a great way to ensure they fit like a glove, but if this isn’t an option, it is worth trying different brands and styles to find your perfect fit.

Clothing that fits correctly will look much better and give women more confidence when wearing them.

“Above all, ensure that everything you choose fits well and feels right. Your clothing should not only look good but make you feel great, confident and comfortable,” Steven explained.

“Remember, true style knows no age, and the best fashion at any stage of life is about expressing who you are in the most flattering way possible.”
